Imagine gliding along lazily in a boat, cutting through the black waters of the primitive Chacahoula
Swamps. Tall cypress trees tower above, dripping with the graceful Spanish moss, a Great Blue Heron flies above
the narrow bayou that snakes its way through the swamp. An owl perched on a limb overhead watches intently. A large
alligator slides off the bank and slips into the black water without a sound, he disappears, then surfaces slowly
just a few feet away, waiting...the only sounds are those of the swamps.
Munson's Swamp Tours will take you deep into those mysterious cajun bayous and swamps
of South Louisiana, haunted by alligators and lined with moss draped trees. Tours on pontoon boats are taken in
small parties into an area closed to the general public. Knowledgeable guides point out the magnificent birds and
other wildlife treasures of this remote area.

From New Orleans: Take I-10 West to 310 South (to Boutte), then take Hwy 90 West, go approximately 40 miles and exit at LA. 311. Take LA. 311 South/Right and go 3 miles to Bull Run Road, turn right onto Bull Run
Road and go 4.2 miles to tour on left. Allow approximately 1 1/2 hours driving time.
From Morgan City: Take Hwy 90 East to Chacahoula/Thidodaux Exit, then take LA. 20 to the left, go 1/3rd mile to Bull Run Road (next to Wilson's Kountry Korner Store & Conoco Station) and turn left on Bull Run Road
for 4.8 miles. The tour will be on your right,
signs out front.
